* Personne ne s'opposera à un Patriot Act après ce qui vient de se produire en France. Personne sera contre la mise en place de mesures excessives qui visent à combattre et à éliminer le terrorisme. Mais même si le Patriot Act permet aux autorités de procéder à des arrestations sans mandat, de détenir un individu soupçonné de s'être radicalisé pendant de longues périodes sans le droit de recourir à un avocat, croyez-vous vraiment que le terrorisme sera éradiqué de la planète et que nous vivrons enfin dans un monde de paix et de sécurité?
Ce que les autorités ne clament pas, c'est que le Patriot Act donne le droit aux autorités de procéder à l'arrestation de tout individu appartenant à un groupe jugé "à risque" par les agences de renseignement. Parmi ces groupes, on trouve les militants anti-gouvernement, les patriotes, les pro-armes, les milices chrétiennes, les survivalistes, les activistes politiques et environnementaux... toute personne qui remet en question la "version officielle" et qui s'affiche contre les politiques gouvernementales.
Suite aux attentats qui ont secoué la France la semaine dernière, la réaction politique commence à prendre forme. Deux axes sont d’ores et déjà évoqués par le ministère de l’Intérieur : le renforcement des contrôles aux frontières et la coopération des opérateurs Internet.
«Il y a des libertés qui peuvent être facilement abandonnées», l’ancien ministre de l’Intérieur Claude Gueant interrogé par France 2 ne perd pas de temps et demande, à la suite des attentats de la semaine dernière de nouvelles mesures, similaires à celles prises par le Royaume-Uni suite aux attentats de 2005. De son côté, Valerie Pecresse (UMP) réclamait hier via son compte twitter «un Patriot Act à la française » tandis que Nicolas Sarkozy appelait à une « nouvelle grande loi sur le renseignement».
